Local 488 updates and announcements

Please review the following important updates and upcoming events:

• Union Office Closure: The Union Office will close at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 14, 2026, for our annual Retirees Luncheon and Memorial. Normal operations will resume at 7:30 AM on Friday, May 15. Please plan accordingly; we appreciate your understanding.
• COMET Course: We will be hosting a Construction Organizing Membership Education Training (COMET) Course on Tuesday, May 19 at 5:00pm, at the Union Hall. Registration is not required, and all members are encouraged to attend.
• Shoot for a Cure Event: The Connecticut Teamsters and UFCW Local 919 are hosting a "Shoot for a Cure" event to benefit the March of Dimes on June 12 at the Andover Sportsman Club. If you would like to participate, please contact me by May 27 so we can add your name to our list. Feel free to reach out directly to Jerome White with any questions.
• Volunteer Opportunity: The Connecticut State Building Trades has officially endorsed Governor Ned Lamont for re-election and is seeking volunteers for the Democratic Party Convention this Saturday, May 16. Volunteers are needed to help hold signs beginning at 8:30 AM at the Bushnell Theater, 166 Capitol Ave, Hartford.
