It brings us great sadness to inform you that our dear friend and brother Richard Manzo passed away last night, October 1, 2008, surrounded by his loving family.

Rich was a member of IBEW Local Union 488 for 42 years.  He loved being a part of our local and always went out of his way to help anyone who needed it.  Rich worked tirelessly in many capacities on behalf of all our members.  Throughout his career Rich was on many Committees including the JATC, Scholarship, Negotiating, and Outing Committee where he served as Chairman.  Rich was a union steward or foreman on many jobs including Union Carbide where he was Superintendant for Valenti Electric. 

Richie's greatest accomplishments came  by serving as an officer of Local 488 for many years.  Richard served as a member of the Executive Board,  Fund Trustee, and finished his career here as President and Assistant Business Manager.  Rich will be remembered by all of us as a true friend and brother.

Services will be held at Parente-Lauro Funeral Home in Bridgeport, CT.  Friends may call from 9:00 - 11:00 am on Saturday, October 4, 2008.  There will be a short prayer service at the funeral home at 11:00 am.  Parente-Lauro Funeral home is located on Washington Avenue.  Directions are attached.
